Pottery House

No visit to Scotland is complete without a visit to the famed Loch Ness and if you are looking for accommodation, Pottery House is the ideal haven from which to enjoy the majesty and mystery of this great natural spectacle. We are a relaxed, friendly bed and breakfast overlooking Loch Ness in the quiet village of Dores, but just 8 miles from Inverness. Our award winning Loch Ness B&B offers a high standard of accommodation and hospitality.

Pottery House was built specifically for Bed & Breakfast. We are therefore able to offer a very high standard of accommodation whilst maintaining the ambience and friendly atmosphere of a traditional B&B. All our rooms have large, luxury ensuite bathrooms, with powerful shower, hand basin & WC. Our en-suites do not have a bath.

All accommodation includes: Television with DVD player, tea/coffee/hot chocolate courtesy tray, silent mini-fridge, hairdryer, use of iron/ironing board, fresh flowers in room, powerful shower, ample off-street parking, central heating with independent room controls, wireless Internet access and our own special local information pack.

The nearby Dores Inn is only a 5 minute walk away and offers a splendid restaurant. We are happy to book meals for you.

We are located on the quieter, rural side of Loch Ness, on the edge of the village of Dores, about 8 miles south west of Inverness. There is easy access to the Loch Ness waters edge, Loch Ness is at the bottom of our drive and Dores beach is a 5 minute walk away.

This gives us a central location with Cairngorm National Park, The Black Isle, Glen Affric, Moray Firth Beaches, Ullapool, Ben Nevis and the Nevis Range and Cairngorm Ski resorts all within an day trip by car. There is easy access to Inverness and Inverness airport.

Each morning we offer the choice of a full cooked breakfast, full vegetarian breakfast or a daily special (different each day). There is also fresh fruit, yogurts, fruit juices, cereals and well as our own special "Do It Yourself" muesli. And of course our famous home made preserves and freshly baked rolls each morning.

Breakfasts are cooked while you wait and you are free to select items from that mornings menu, which includes a vegetarian full cooked. And if pancakes are the special of the day we can make a batch using rice flour for you.

Unlike many B&Bs we don't ask guests for their breakfast selections the night before: We don't know what we'll fancy for breakfast the night before, so we don't expect you to. And while we freshly prepare your breakfast you will have time to plan your day, ask us for recommendations or chat with other guests.
